Carron is the highest village in the Burren mountains and is most famous nationally, for being the birthplace of Michael Cusack, the founder of the GAA(Gaelic Athletic Association)1884. The cottage where he was born and the newly opened Michael Cusack centre are 2klm from Carron village. 2 minute drive from Clare's Rock Poulnabrone Dolmen is a megalithic buriel tomb, the remains of 33 people were discovered there. It is believed that it was constructed in 3800 BC. Poulnabrone is about 6 klms from the village of Carron. 5 minute drive from Clare's Rock

The
Burren's stone forts. are circular walled forts were first build around
400AD. The most well known of these are Cahercammaun and Caherconnell Stone Forts. The latter is situated
1 km south of Poulnabrone. Caherconnell was thought to have been home to a large

![]() | The Cliffs of Moher are 215 m in height and stretch for almost 8 km. From O' Brien's tower you can view the coastline of Clare, the Aran Islands. 25 minute drive from Clare's Rock The Burren perfumery is with view of the hostel and within short walking distance.

Cave is Irelands premier showcave, located 5 km south of Ballyvaughan
village. You can take a tour of the cave with expert guides who will describe
to you the wonderful formations. Aillwee Cave was once home of the now extinct
