Carron is the highest village in the Burren mountains and is most famous nationally, for being the birthplace of Michael Cusack, the founder of the GAA(Gaelic Athletic Association)1884. The cottage where he was born and the newly opened Michael Cusack centre are 2klm from Carron village.2 minute drive from Clare's Rock

Poulnabrone Dolmen is a megalithic buriel tomb, the remains of 33 people were discovered there. It is believed that it was constructed in 3800 BC. Poulnabrone is about 6 klms from the village of Carron. 5 minute drive from Clare's Rock

The Burren Perfumery located in Carron, 6km off the R480. In the perfumery you can see the processes involved in making the products and sample the final products. The Burren Purfumery also offers an audiovisual display detailing the flora of the Burren. Admission is free. 2 minute drive from Clare's Rock

Leminagh castle

 

The Burren's stone forts. are circular walled forts were first build around 400AD. The most well known of these is Caherconnell Stone Fort. This is situated 1 km south of Poulnabrone. Caherconnell was thought to have been home to a large farmer and his family. This fort may have been occupied up to the 17th Century. Caherconnell Visitor Centre provides archaeological and historical information on Caherconnell and other monuments around the area.

The Cliffs of Moher

The cliffs are 215 m in height and stretch for almost 8 km. From O' Brien's tower you can view the coastline of Clare, the Aran Islands. 25 minute drive from Clare's Rock

Dunguaire castle

 

Aillwee Cave is Irelands premier showcave, located 5 km south of Ballyvaughan village. You can take a tour of the cave with expert guides who will describe to you the wonderful formations. Aillwee Cave was once home of the now extinct brown bear.15 minute drive from Clare's Rock

In their restaurant which overlooks Carron's world famous Turlough they boast a very descriptive menu,.
Friday nights during the summer months they host a fish night with fresh fish caught in the waters off Ballyvaughan and Galway Bay.
